I just viewed the video on the Lockheeds Neptune P2V and was taken back to 1961. I flew on this bird as a flight crew chief until 1963 and it brought back some memories. I loved that old slow flying "bird". She was faithful as an angel.
Vp24 (Patrol Squadron 24) was envolved in the Cuban Missle Crisis and we flew out of Antiqua and Panama. We had some close calls flying at 500 feet over the ocean but those old 3350's never spit once. They ran like a well oiled watch.
Thanks for restoring her. Keep her flying with tender loving care.
I'm now 74 years old and would love to get a chance to fly in the "jump" seat one more time befor I die. But I know thats impossible. But thanks for having her on your web site.
