As I understand it ,Silver City and Silver Gull were bought before the war by B.H.P. for executive and exploration use. Both were painted in camoflage paint during the war but were never used in action.I understand this paint reduced their top speed by quite a few knots and when removed after the war, they never recovered this loss of speed. My father was employed by B.H.P and flew both these planes till there eventual replacement.

Do you have any employment opportunities with HARS,I've been interested in aviation for many years now.Particularly WW2 aircraft;and vintage civilian planes that have piston engines.
Iv'e been employed in retail for the past ten years and would really like to be involved in a worthwhile enterprise such as HARS.Money is not an issue, just the sheer involvement of being around those wonderful machines and working with like minded people.I firmly believe that the museum is a magnificent undertaking and can only grow and prosper over the years.
