Open Monday to Sunday 9:30am to 3:30pm (last tour at 2pm), except Christmas and Airshow Days. Visitors arriving after 2:00pm are likely to miss the last tour.
While we are happy to take “Walk-in visitors” we do encourage Online Booking to ensure we have sufficient volunteer Tour Guides on duty on the day our visitors arrive. Tours of the museum run continually so there is no need to specify a time of arrival.
Pre Booking is essential for a group of 10 or more and can be done from the Tours and Pricing pages.
-
Guided tours only: Tours run daily from 09:30 to 15:30, except when we’re closed on Christmas Day and Airshow Days.
-
Working hangars: Our hangars are active maintenance and restoration spaces, so visitors must be escorted.
-
No barriers: You can get remarkably close to the aircraft — often far closer than at traditional museums.
-
Hands‑on atmosphere: You’ll walk through real hangars with engineers, pilots and volunteers working on real operational aircraft. It’s an immersive, behind‑the‑scenes experience rather than a typical “look but don’t touch” museum.
-
If you’re planning a visit, we can help you find the best time to come, what aircraft are on display, or how we compare with other aviation museums in Australia and overseas.
