On 3rd November 2012 the HARS Catalina VH PBZ paid a visit to the Catalina Festival at the historic Rathmines World War 2 RAAF seaplane maintenance base on Lake Macquarie New South Wales and wowed the crowd with its water landing, taxi up the seaplane ramp, public inspection and departure. Over 15,000 people witnessed the event which was the first time a Catalina had graced the base for many years. A number of ex RAAF WW2 Catalina aircrew and maintenance personnel attended the event and witnessed the historic return of a Black Cat onto their old base.
