28 September 2018 was a big day for the Southern Cross II project. It was the day that the main undercarriage was installed. The team, led by Jim Thurstan, rejoiced at their achievement, and celebrated by wearing special t-shirts sponsored by Southern Cross Supplies Pty Ltd. Southern Cross Supplies provides services and ingredients for the bakery and food industries.
Southern Cross II now stands tall and proud on her own wheels and is looking more like the completed project.
Now the team focuses on getting the refurbished engines back and in place.
